Roy Student Named ICE North America Ambassador

Clarion Gaming, producer of the ICE Totally Gaming series of international trade shows, announced at last week’s ICE London show that Las Vegas-based gaming analyst and industry veteran Roy Student has been named brand ambassador for ICE North America, the first U.S. installation of the event, scheduled for May 13-15 in Boston.

Student is president of gaming consultancy Applied Management Strategies in Las Vegas, a company he founded in 1986. His more than four decades of gaming industry experience includes serving as president of Cyberview Technology and pioneering systems company Gaming Systems International. He serves on the advisory boards of the Mob Museum, MarsWorld, Global Gaming Business magazine and CDC Gaming Reports.

In his new role, Student will advise Clarion on its stakeholder engagement program in anticipation of the first ICE North America event.

“I decided to join Clarion Gaming as an adviser because in my 46 years in gaming, and in attending various Clarion events, I have found that they have a complete understanding and knowledge of the global gaming industry,” Student said, according to CDC Gaming Reports.

“They have a great vision of where the industry is heading and will be a force in providing the information needed in assisting both vendors and operators to meet their strategic goals. It will be my objective to assist them in continuing their leadership in gaming on a global basis.”

“The launch of ICE North America is an important milestone in the development of the ICE brand following last October’s launch of ICE Africa,” Clarion Managing Director Kate Chambers added. “Wherever we operate in the world, we do so in partnership with the industry. I am delighted to be able to draw upon Roy’s insight, knowledge and network, and we are looking forward to an event that promises to be hugely important for all North American-facing gaming companies.”
