Apex Gaming Opens Spanish Subsidiary
Austrian supplier Apex Gaming is committing more resources to what it sees as the growing potential of the so-called street markets in Italy, Spain and Latin America.
Austria-based slot machine maker Apex Gaming has opened a subsidiary in Spain. The new company, Apex Gaming Spain Ltd., was established to take advantage of the rise in popularity of multi-game devices in Spain's non-casino gaming venues.
Darek Borowiec, who heads the new entity, has an extensive background working with such companies as Barcrest and Recreativos Franco.
Speaking of the new move, Borowiec said, "The Spanish street market is demanding more and more premium products and so this is ideal timing for Apex Gaming to enter this market. Naturally it takes time to establish a new company in this market but I am very confident that Spanish operators will quickly warm to our products."
Apex also recently strengthened its commitment to the Italian and Latin American markets with the appointment of the multi-lingual Franz Plasser, whose presence will be felt in both regions.
"We have the benefit of having a very successful range of products at Apex," said Plasser. "This makes the challenge of breaking into new markets even greater as we know from experience how operators can profit from Apex Gaming products. We will be exhibiting at SAGSE in Argentina and ELA in Mexico this year. Naturally we will be present at the Italian exhibitions as well."
Apex Gaming is also showing at IGE in London this week.
