Fourth Chairman in 12 Months for Senecas
Kevin Seneca rose through the ranks to replace Jeffrey Gill, who served only four months. Gill replaces Barry Snyder Sr.
For the fourth time in less than a year, Seneca Gaming Corp. of New York States has named a new chairman. Kevin Seneca is the immediate past treasurer of the casino gaming operations of the Seneca Nation of Indians, which has three casinos in upstate New York. He replaces Jeffrey Gill, who served as chairman for the past four months. Gill will remain on the Seneca Gaming Board.
In 2009, Gill replaced Barry Snyder Sr. as chairman. Snyder resigned in March, but remains president of the Seneca Nation of Indians.
Seneca was appointed to Seneca Gaming's board last year. He was treasurer between 2006 and 2008.
"I am honored by the trust and confidence my fellow board members have placed in me," Seneca said. "Together, we have helped Seneca Gaming Corp. maintain its position in the gaming industry. I look forward to helping the company continue to grow by working collaboratively with the management team so that we can realize our goals and vision."
Seneca's appointment comes as the tribe, which experienced a $19 million revenue decline in 2009, braces for additional competition from Pennsylvania and Ohio.
