Slovenia’s Hit Names New GM for Perla Casino
Slovenia-based hotel and casino operator Hit Group is bringing in what appears to be a rising talent to manage its largest and most prestigious property.
Vasja Mihelj has been selected to be the new general manager of the Hit Group's flagship property, the Perla Casino & Hotel, in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
Mihelj is coming from a stint as GM at another Hit property, Hotel Casino Maestral, in Montenegro. The Maestral is Hit's largest investment outside Slovenia. During his time there, Mihelj hosted some 90,000 visitors.
In 2009 the Perla property generated €19.6 million in gross profit, €13.3 million of which came from gaming, according to news source Dnevnik. That same source said that Mihelj is being brought in because the Perla is not functioning as well as management had hoped.
Danijel Mlecnik will move from his position as assistant director of Hotel Casino Park, also in Nova Gorica, to replace Mihelj at Maestral.
