Victoria New Head of Foxwoods Marketing

Sat, Jul 31, 2010

Robert Victoria named to lead marketing department of the Connecticut casino resort, under interim president William Sherlock.

Robert Victoria, a top consumer-marketing executive for the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, has been appointed to serve as the new chief marketing officer for the casino and its MGM Grand complex.

According to Foxwoods, Victoria is taking on an expanded role for the casino-and-entertainment complex, including all marketing and sales initiatives, e-commerce, database marketing and public relations and brand management for Foxwoods and MGM Grand.

Victoria has extensive marketing experience in the casino industry and has directed several successful initiatives for Foxwoods. In 2009, he helped to create Foxwoods' "Wonder of It All" talent search to find the new voice for the casino's popular "Wonder of It All" jingle. He also led the development of Foxwoods new iPhone application and negotiated several marketing sponsorships, including Foxwoods' partnership with the New York Liberty sports team.

Victoria will report directly to interim gaming enterprises president William Sherlock, recently named to succeed Michael Speller, who resigned in June after little more than a year on the job.
