GLOBAL GAMING BUSINESS PODCAST: Rob Wyre, General Manager, Isle of Capri Casino and Pompano Park Racetrack

Rob Wyre has a long history in gaming, starting in Las Vegas and going through many jurisdictions across the country. From Minnesota, to Mississippi, California to Indiana, Wyre has seen it all. At Isle in Pompano, he’s competing against the huge Seminole Hard Rock Casino Resort just a few miles away with about 1,500 slot machines and poker. Table games are not permitted but the onerous tax rate of 50 percent has recently been reduced to 35 percent so Wyre’s operations are expected to be even more profitable. Always a good operator, Wyre was awarded a corporate honor of having the most improved finances in the company. He spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros at his offices in Pompano Park in Florida in August.
