Andrew MacDonald has a long history in gaming in Australia and Asia. He spent the formative years of his career in Tasmania and later as a member of the Queensland Casino Control Division. He later held executive positions with Crown Casino in Melbourne and Sky City Casinos in New Zealand. Most recently he became an investment banker for Macquarie Capital Advisors in New York until being named the executive vice president – casino for Marina Bay Sands, the integrated resort being built by Las Vegas Sands in Singapore late last year. MacDonald is also the founder of urbino.net, one of the leading online education centers for the gaming industry. He spoke with me over the phone from his New York offices before leaving for Singapore.
