Moyer to Take Helm in Pittsburgh
The general manager of Iowa’s Diamond Jo Casino is the new general manager of Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino.
Todd Moyer, who has been general manager of Iowa's Diamond Jo Casino for the past two years, officially takes a new job today as general manager of Pittsburgh's Rivers Casino.
Moyer, who became known as one of the most innovative marketing executives in the business when he was a vice president of Trump Marina in Atlantic City, will fill the job vacated by the retirement of Ed Fasulo, who opened and staffed the Pittsburgh casino.
According to the Diamond Jo casino, Moyer is accepting the job to be close to his extended family. His wife is a Pittsburgh native. In an interview with the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, Natalie Schramm, CFO of Diamond Jo parent Peninsula Gaming, praised Moyer's contributions to the property's success. "The Diamond Jo leadership team has been together for over a decade; Todd Moyer joined our team in 2008 and was a great addition," Schramm said. "We certainly understand how exciting this opportunity is for Todd and his family. We wish Todd, Tina and their children the best."
Moyer joined the Dubuque property as general manager as the riverboat completed an $84 million casino and entertainment complex in 2008. He is credited with growing the local market through cooperative promotional efforts with the rival Mystique Casino. "The biggest stride we've had over the last three years is working cooperatively with Mystique Casino," Moyer told the newspaper. "It really has helped grow the gaming in Dubuque, not to compete with each other over the same customer but to have a unified goal to bring more people to Dubuque."
While in Atlantic City, Moyer became known for creative promotions at Trump Marina such as offering player's club members the chance to roll dice for $1 million, and a variety of other innovative programs that brought players into the casino.
