Wanta Now Senior VP, CIO at MGM

The tech exec has a long history in IT at major corporations, including PepsiCo, Wells Fargo. With MGM, Wanta will direct the company’s social networks and casino IT systems.

Becky Wanta, an executive with more than 30 years of experience in information technology, has been named as MGM Resorts International’s new senior vice president and chief information officer.

 
In her new role, Wanta will be responsible for the strategic management and leadership of the company’s IT department, including all technology, software development, operations and project management. She most recently served as vice president of IT operations and chief technology officer for the company.
 
Wanta first joined MGM Resorts in a consulting role in 2010, when she was hired as interim chief technology officer. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president and CIO for State Compensation Insurance Fund, the largest workers’ comp insurance company in California.
 
“Becky has a depth of experience and talent that is key to our operations, as information technology continues to grow in its prominence as a central tool in the gaming and hospitality experience,” said Aldo Manzini, MGM’s executive vice president and chief administrative officer. “Our goal is to aggressively leverage the most advanced technologies to take guest interactions and relationships to a whole new level.”
 
Wanta’s resume also includes executive stints at Best Buy, PepsiCo, Wells Fargo and the Money Store.
