The annual trade show of the National Indian Gaming Association, held last week in Phoenix, attracted vendors from around the world and featured a contest for NIGA leadership between current Chairman Ernie Stevens Jr. (l.) and challenger Ivan Makil, the former president of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. But it wasn’t much of a contest in the end as Stevens trounced Makil.
