Wyandotte County’s Unified Board of Commissioners last week endorsed two casinos proposals, one by Kansas Entertainment LLC and the other by Penn National Gaming Inc. The proposals were forwarded to the Kansas Lottery Commission, which began holding hearings prior to contract negotiations on June 17. The final decision about which developer will get the prize won’t be decided for several months.

The bill, part of an omnibus construction bill, awaits the signature of Governor Pat Quinn, who says he won’t sign anything until lawmakers give him a budget that he’s happy with.
