Chan: No application yet for gaming license
The 13 Holdings Ltd., promoter of the luxury 13 Hotel on the border of Macau’s Cotai and Coloane districts, says that construction of the property will be complete by mid-February.
In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange cited by GGRAsia, the company said it expects “completion of remaining works and installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment and operating supplies and equipment” by that time, with a likely opening date “on or before March 31, 2018.”
Before the hotel opens, the property must be inspected by the Macau Government Tourism Office. A casino operation may open at the high-end hotel under the license of one of the city’s major six concessionaires, the news outlet reported. On November 14, however, the director of the city’s gaming bureau, Paulo Martins Chan, said no gaming license application had been made to his body regarding the 13.
