The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes opened their new $21.1 million Gray Wolf Peak Casino near Missoula, Montana on November 1. About 200 people waited to enter the 34,000 square foot facility, featuring a 10,000 square foot gaming floor with 307 machines. The property employs 120 people.

Nearly 200 people were on hand to enter the new .1 million Gray Wolf Peak Casino on U.S. 93 near Missoula, Montana when the doors opened on November 1. Operated by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, the casino is a larger version of the original Polson casino that opened in 2006. The bigger, better 34,000 square foot Gray Wolf Peak features a 10,000 square foot gaming floor with 307 machines, compared to the first casino’s 112. The casino will employ up to 120 people, up from the 35 who worked at the original casino. The old casino building will be demolished.

S&K Gaming Chief Executive Officer Bryan Miller said, “It’s been a long journey, but we’re really happy with the way it turned out. We believe we’re going to be the premiere gaming destination in this area. So we invite everybody to come out and see us, and enjoy the new Gray Wolf Casino.”

Miller added, “This is a purposely built facility that was intended to be a casino, restaurant and lounge, with the possibility of a hotel.”

The facility allows smoking but Miller noted, “Some of the air return is coming in from the floor through access panels and is going to be pushed out with the smoke residue and it will be vented properly, so we’ll have 100-percent clean air intake.”
