Caesars Entertainment Inc. announced plans for a $32.5 million expansion and renovation of the casino gaming floor at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville, Arkansas. Officials said the project will create more than 100 jobs and produce millions of dollars in gaming taxes for local and state governments. Work will begin on April 1, 2021 and be completed by the end of the year.
Caesars Entertainment President and Chief Operating Officer Anthony Carano stated, “This investment at Indiana Grand is a testament to our continued commitment to Indiana. We are dedicated to enhancing and upgrading our operations at all of our locations, and we’re excited to start on several new phases of renovation and expansion in Shelbyville.” Indiana Grand Senior Vice President and General Manager Mike Rich added, “Since the implementation of table games in early 2020, we have looked forward to expanding our gaming operations. This growth will allow us to accommodate more guests and add more talented team members, and with the addition of a state-of-the-art poker room, we will expand our casino offerings to include some of the most notable programs in the United States, including World Series of Poker.”
Specifically, Caesars will expand the casino floor by about 25,000 square feet, accommodating 100 new slot machines and 25 extra table games. The new 5,000-square-foot WSOP Poker Room, named for the World Series of Poker, will include 20 tables; players will have opportunities to qualify for WSOP tournaments including the Main Event in Las Vegas.
Other highlights of the project include a 20-seat video poker bar with 65-inch LCD overhead screens’ new gaming chairs; new surface parking; and new design elements.
