$40 Million Saratoga Casino Hotel Opens

The 117-room Saratoga Casino Hotel (l.) in Saratoga Springs, New York, opened in time for the Fourth of July holiday. The $40 million hotel addition includes suites among its 117 guest rooms, an indoor pool, spa, fitness center, 3,000-square-foot events space, restaurants, and a bar, and helps it to compete against a casino being built nearby.

The $40 million hotel addition includes suites among its 117 guest rooms, an indoor pool, spa, fitness center, 3,000-square-foot events space, restaurants, and a bar.

Hotel General Manager Tom Wiedmayer in a statement said the $40 million addition “transforms the guest experience” at the “world-class destination.”

Part of that transformational experience is the resort’s new Morton’s The Steakhouse, which is located in the new hotel wing and accepts reservations online at SaratogaCasino.com and Opentable.com.

Work on the $40 million hotel addition started early last year and is located next to Saratoga’s harness track and casino. The addition added 100 jobs.

With the new hotel and other amenities, track owners changed its name to Saratoga Casino Hotel. It formerly was named the Saratoga Casino & Raceway.

The casino offers slots and will compete directly with the under-construction Rivers Casino & Resort at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady, which is scheduled to open next year.
