British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) last week launched Canada’s first live-dealer government-approved casino, PlayNow.com.
The site has 10 gaming “tables” that offer baccarat, blackjack, roulette, auto roulette and baccarat eSqueeze. Open between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the live casino can be played from a computer and mobile platforms.
The technology was provided by Evolution Gaming, which opened a new live dealer studio in Vancouver’s New Westminster neighborhood. It has about 50 employees but could employ more than three times that.
BCLC recently signed an agreement with Archiact to study “the development of Virtual Reality for the purposes of gaming.” The game would provide players with challenges for escape from a room.
