Ad Indicates Ponca Casino Plans

The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma recently ran an advertisement seeking applicants for a gaming executive director, indicating it may have plans to build a casino east of Enid. However, the Enid city manager and Regional Development Alliance executive director both said they weren't aware of a Ponca casino.

The Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma seems to have plans for a new casino east of Enid, at Interstate 35 and U.S. 412. The tribe recently ran an advertisement seeking applicants for the position of gaming executive director.

However, City Manager Jerald Gilbert said, “I am not aware of any casino plans.” And Enid Regional Development Alliance Executive Director Brent Kisling said he did not have any information. The tribe did not provide further details.

The 3,522-member Ponca Tribe previously operated two casinos in Ponca City, but both are now closed.
