AGA’s By The Book Adds Tribal Data

The American Gaming Association's By the Book online interactive resource now offers data on Class III Tribal gaming statutes and regulations in 28 states, along with key information on the regulatory environments and 2014 economic impact data for commercial casinos across 24 states.

The American Gaming Association recently announced its By the Book online resource now features Class III Tribal gaming policies and regulations in 28 states, in addition to key data regarding the regulatory environment in each of the 24 commercial casino states. It’s the latest step in the AGA’s quest to represent the full scope of the industry, following the organization’s offer of membership to tribal gaming companies for the first time in its 20-year history.

Accessible via GamingBytheBook.org, By the Book launched last year as part of AGA’s “Get to Know Gaming” campaign. The first-of-its-kind online resource offers in-depth regulatory and statutory requirements for the gaming industry in the areas of regulatory oversight; licensing; taxation; responsible gaming; and integrity. The database makes available information that otherwise only could be accessed through state records, helping to identify duplications and inefficiencies. The latest edition of By the Book also includes 2014 economic impact data for commercial casinos in 24 states.

AGA President and Chief Executive Officer Geoff Freeman said by providing an efficient understanding of the industry’s detailed and complex regulations across the country, By the Book can help the AGA advocate for better policies and regulations that will allow gaming companies to innovate, reinvest and create jobs. He added in 2016, AGA “will continue to play a crucial role in highlighting the complex regulatory landscape the casino gaming industry and regulators often navigate” and will continue to “work to modernize regulations and remove barriers to innovation as part of our Next Generation Gaming policy.”
