AGE Trade Show Is On, Despite Recent Covid Cases

The Australasian Gaming Expo (AGE) has pledged that the in-person event will take place August 10-12 as scheduled, despite a two-week lockdown in New South Wales that was due to end last Friday.

The lockdown began June 26 following an outbreak of Covid-19 that led to more than 220 confirmed cases.

In a statement, the organization said, “With AGE just under six weeks away and with multiple Covid outbreaks around the country, we wanted to assure you that we are in full swing preparing all the necessary work for AGE to proceed … The New South Wales government has been very clear that a return to business as Covid-normal is their ‘Plan A’.

“Even if the Sydney lockdown proceeds a week or two longer than currently announced, AGE will be able to set up and run,” organizers said.

An exhibition of the Gaming Technologies Association (GTA), the trade show will include more than 240 exhibitors. It will take place at the International Convention Centre in Sydney. For more information, visit austgamingexpo.com.
