The AGEM Index, a monthly stock performance guide comprising 13 global gaming suppliers, increased again in March, rising by 1.6 percent to 764.13 points thanks to strong growth in the share price of ASX-listed Aristocrat Leisure Limited.
According to the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers, which compiles the AGEM Index, Aristocrat’s share price rose from AU$30.36 to AU$34.35 and was responsible for 35.77 points of the AGEM Index’s monthly growth. The other significant index contributor was Crane Co, which added 12.21 points on a 12 percent stock price gain from US$83.86 to US$93.91.
However, only five of the 13 companies on the AGEM Index registered stock price increases in March, with eight recording falls. The three other companies to show increases were Galaxy Gaming Inc., Inspired Entertainment Inc. and Transact Technologies.
The major stock indices performed strongly over the month with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 experiencing monthly gains of 6.6 percent and 4.2 percent respectively, while the NASDAQ grew by 0.4 percent.
