AGS Acquires PocketPlay

American Gaming Systems announced the acquisition of social games supplier PocketPlay, moving the company quickly into the growing social gaming market.

Las Vegas-based slot manufacturer American Gaming Systems announced that it has acquired social games supplier PocketPlay for an undisclosed sum. The social gaming company has offices in San Francisco and Tel Aviv, and operates the Lucky Play Casino social gaming site.

AGS CEO David Lopez said the acquisition will enable his company to enter the quickly growing social gaming market, and is in line with a strategy to establish a successful presence across diverse platforms.

The addition of AGS content would enhance the choice of games available on PocketPlay, said its chief executive Mani Honigstein, revealing that integration is already underway. Honigstein will join the AGS management team.
