Slot and table-game manufacturer AGS last week officially launched its new, award-winning premium slot machine cabinet, Orion. The new slot format, initially released earlier this year, has already surpassed performance and sales expectations with more than 350 units currently installed and nearly 700 more installations scheduled.
This success is fueled by Orion’s performance during field trials and the growing popularity of the Company’s core cabinet, ICON, which was released last year.
“In just over 60 days, we’ve signed agreements for more than 1,000 Orion units and we couldn’t be more energized about its performance and momentum,” said David Lopez, President and CEO of AGS. “Orion’s success speaks to our obsession with getting the details right with new hardware and creating games gamblers love to play.”
Since field trials began in August 2016, Orion’s first featured games, Fu Nan Fu Nu and River Dragons, have been consistently performing at multiples above house average. “Even after 11 months, Orion’s Fu Nan Fu Nu is still doing five times house average,” said Skyelar Perkins, senior director of slot operations at Choctaw Casinos & Resorts in Oklahoma. The Choctaws’ Durant property was the first casino to trial the cabinet.
What sets Orion apart is its performance, flexibility, and style. From its 42-inch LCD HD touchscreen portrait monitor to the 498 full-color LED lights that encircle it, Orion is powered by a dynamic library of high-performing game content including Fu Nan Fu Nu, River Dragons, Wolf Queen and Winter of the Dragons. The cabinet, offered in both Class II and Class III formats, is also available with stunning sign packages and in multiple custom configurations.
“Feedback from customers has been very encouraging, and we’re already receiving reorders,” added Lopez. “Orion’s game library depth, coupled with our high-caliber sales talent and the quality of their customer relationships, gives us confidence that Orion’s reach will mirror ICON’s, which is now more than 2,500 placements strong and still growing.”
