AIGF Asks India PM to Block Offshore Sites

The All-India Gaming Federation has reportedly appealed to the country’s prime minister to crack down on foreign betting websites. The AIGF claims access to the sites can increase gambling addictions among Indians.

Calls out sites including BetRally, Bet365

The All-India Gaming Federation has reportedly asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to block foreign betting websites from accepting deposits from Indian players.

According to Inside Asian Gaming, the AIGF contends that a number of offshore gaming sites are openly accepting bets from Indian players in violation of the country’s Foreign Exchange Management Rules and cyber-laws.

The body says such activity increases the risks for problem gambling among Indian players and also poses a national security risk; it wants the Enforcement Directorate to launch a probe against the websites, including 1xbet, Jeetwin, BetRally and Bet365.
