Allegiant Stadium to Be Cashless

Allegiant Stadium, the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders, will be cashless from day one—whenever that will be. Fans will not be permitted at Raiders’ games in 2020.

Allegiant Stadium to Be Cashless

Don’t bring cash to a Las Vegas Raiders home game. If you want to buy a hot dog, beer or souvenir, you’ll have to use plastic or any number of digital options. The new Allegiant Stadium is the first sports venue to go cashless from day one.

Of course, day one won’t be the September 21 home opener against the New Orleans Saints. Fans aren’t allowed yet. But when they are, fans can pay with debit or credit cards, or Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay. If you show up with cash anyway, the stadium includes cash to card kiosks to exchange for a prepaid card good in and out of the stadium, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

The Raiders say transactions will be faster, reducing annoying lines, which means fans return to their seats quicker.

The decision to forego cash was based in part on a survey from seat license holders, but also coincided with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control’s Covid-19 response.
