Amax International Holdings, a Hong Kong-listed TK, has inked a three-year deal to oversee 13 VIP tables at Genting Crown Casino in Poipet, Cambodia, a casino town on the border of Thailand.
According to Inside Asian Gaming, Amax will pay Crown Resorts Co. Ltd. a monthly fee of RMB500,000 (US$75,650) for the first year, RMB550,000 for the second year and RMB600,000 for the third.
In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Amax disclosed it would outsource the operation to an unnamed entity which with it has partnered in Macau, Singapore and Saipan. As part of the agreement, the operator will be responsible for “formulating strategies; monitoring the human resources and administration functions; promoting the target VIP room; overseeing the entire day-to-day operations as well as liaising with the operator’s junkets network to bring players to the target VIP room.”
The room is located on the second floor of Genting Crown Casino and covers 1,150 square meters. The property is not affiliated with Australia’s Crown Resorts or with Genting Group.
