Apple Pay, a hot new form of paying for goods and services, will debut at the Cosmopolitan this summer. This marks the first resort in Las Vegas to offer the service, which will lead the way for others to join. The electronic wallet service will be used to make payments at the resort’s front desk, concierge, restaurants, bars, and select retailers.
The payment technology debuted last fall, allowing users to make payments with their iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch. Large businesses such as McDonald’s, Walgreens and JetBlue have begun accepting payments, although the popularity has been slow-growing.
Strip retailers such as Foot Locker at Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops and Alexandra Noel Salon at the Flamingo support the payments, but the Cosmopolitan will serve as the first Strip Property to accept payments for full resort services.
