Andalucía Overhauls Gaming Regs

Gaming regulations in the Spanish province of Andalucía are in flux. It may take a year for officials to review and overhaul the regulatory framework, which will allow sports betting online and in specially designated areas within casinos, bingo halls and arcades.

Electronic bingo also in the wings

Gaming regulators in Andalucía are updating the rules that govern betting in the Spanish province. According to Intergameonline.com, the new regulations—which could take up to a year to finalize—will create the largest retail sports betting market in the country.

The regulation provides for sports betting online and on mobile devices in Andalucía, as well as in betting “corners” in casinos, bingo halls, arcades, and some bars and cafes. About 20 percent of bars that now have AWP machines will be able to offer sports betting, for up to 5,000 betting terminals.

The regulations may also provide for electronic bingo in bingo halls, to be played in terminals or on tablets. Some clubs may be connected through an online network.
