Andorra Considers Legal Gaming

The Andorran legislature is looking at a draft bill that would permit one casino in the European microstate, which already has a flourishing tourism industry.

A legislative committee in the European nation of Andorra is considering a bill that would regulate gaming in the country and allow one operator to develop a casino resort. The proposed legislation would also allow residents to access online gambling and poker websites that are currently not available to them.

Lawmakers hope a casino would draw some of the millions of tourists that visit Andorra each year. The small European nation is located between Spain and France.

Discussions about legal online poker in Andorra began in 2013, with the country hoping to collect additional tax income from revenue generated via such activities. Voting on the new bill is due to begin in early 2015.
