Andorra Considers License Appeal

Four companies appealing a casino license award in Andorra have won an extension of their legal action. Genting, Grupo CIRSA, Casinos Austria and Partouche France are protesting the granting of a gaming license to Jocs SA.

Four international gaming companies have until November 27 to appeal a decision by the Andorra government to award the country’s sole casino license to Jocs SA. The “Big Four” includes the Genting Group, Grupo CIRSA, Casinos Austria and Partouche France.

According to CDC Gaming Reports, the complainants contend that there were irregularities in the approval process. They also claim that Jocs SA cannot fulfill some of the requirements for licensure. Jocs SA plans to run the casino in partnership with Novomatic Group.
