Apple Pauses Gambling Ads After Complaints

Developers of apps advertised on Apple’s App Store have convinced Apple to pause a new series of ads for gambling apps.

The gambling ads began after Apple launched Apple Search Ads, a program that makes it easy to promote apps on the App Store.

Several app developers took to Twitter to complain of what they called distasteful gambling apps being hawked along with their apps on the Apple Store page.

Mac Observer quoted an Apple spokesperson as saying the company has “paused ads related to gambling and a few other categories on the App Store product pages,” without providing further details.
