Gonzalo Diez, candidate for mayor in the city of Necochea, Buenos Aires has announced plans to keep the local casino open if he is elected.

Diez told local press that he met with BA Deputy Governor Daniel Salvador, offering a proposal to improve and expand the casino complex, which has been generating annual revenues of $3.5 million while costing $39.5 million to maintain. He wants Salvador to earmark funds for the renovation as part of the upcoming budget for the province.
