The Argentine province of Entre Ríos has adopted a new law creating a gambling regulator and effectively banning online gambling and gambling advertising as it works to create a regulatory framework.
Under a new law, the Institute of Financial Assistance for Social Action of Entre Ríos is now the province’s regulatory body.
The law bans the development and exploitation of games of chance and activities via electronic means and also prevents advertising, gambling and the commercialization of online gaming without the authorization of the IAFAS. Online games that violate the new rules will be now considered illegal, according to a report at Games Magazine.
The law gives the government complete control over the regulation of online gambling in the future. Argentina allows online gaming, but only through its provincial governments and the country has no national gaming law.
