Aristocrat Establishes Macau Subsidiary

Aristocrat Leisure, Limited has established a new subsidiary company in Macau, Aristocrat Technologies Macau Limited, to comply with changing regulations in the Chinese enclave.

Australian slot manufacturer Aristocrat Leisure, Limited has established a new subsidiary in Macau, Aristocrat Technologies Macau Limited, to comply with changes in the Macau regulatory framework.

In a document acquired by the Macau News Agency, Aristocrat says that the new local company will start operations April 1, with the license of its predecessor, Aristocrat (Macau) Pty, due to expire on March 31.

Changes requested by the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) stipulate that gaming manufacturers in Macau must operate through a limited liability company (LLC) registered locally rather than a through a branch of a foreign-owned firm.

The accreditation of Aristocrat’s local business was approved by DICJ on January 10, 2019, with the gaming regulator stating that it is valid until March 31, 2020, “provided the accreditation is not earlier suspended or revoked,” MNA reports.
