Slot manufacturer Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. used the G2E Asia trade show to unveil two slot games using baccarat as a theme, capitalizing on what is already the most popular game at Asian casinos.
At G2E Asia, Aristocrat launched “Multiline Baccarat” and “Baccarat 88,” new slot games on the company’s curved Arc cabinet. “In this part of the world, baccarat is a very big part of our customers’ business,” Vincent Kelly, Aristocrat’s managing director Asia-Pacific, told GGRAsia. “It is a form of game that people very much enjoy playing. We have a lot of expertise in slot machines; what we were looking to do was to bridge the gap between the table game and the slot machine.”
The new games are standard multi-line video slots using a random number generator; they are not electronic versions of baccarat. “This is more about expanding slot share of the overall casino business,” Kelly told GGRAsia. “With the (higher) margins operators are able to enjoy on slots compared to some table games, that should benefit the operators.”
