Aristocrat’s Rowe: Millennials Not a Concern

While several slot manufacturers have launched efforts to design skill-based games, video games and other products to appeal to the millennial generation, one of the top executives for slot-maker Aristocrat Leisure Industries says the company is not overly concerned with playing to the young crowd.

At a panel at the recent MGS Summit in Macau, Chris Rowe, Aristocrat’s managing director, Asia Pacific, said the manufacturer does not design games for any particular demographic group. “We don’t design games for generations, we design for preferences,” Rowe said, adding that the concept of millennials “was a buzzword for a while,” but the company designs its products based on what players have demonstrated they like about the slot games

“There are very distinct differences between different Asian jurisdictions,” Rowe said, but “what is universal is that player segments transcend (borders).”
