Arizona Tribe Rebrands Hotels as ‘Resorts’

Arizona’s Gila River Indian Community has rebranded its three casino hotels to “resorts”—as in Gila River Resorts & Casinos—to reflect a $180 million expansion and opening of new hotel tower, the Sunrise.

The rebranded properties include Vee Quiva, Wild Horse Pass and Lone Butte. Soon there will be four casinos as the tribe is building at Santan Mountain that is expected to open next year.

The new look and additional amenities come as the tribal casino enterprise enters its 28th year. The change was celebrated with a big party on January 21-22 at the Wild Horse Pass in Chandler.
