Slot floors and table areas in Armenian casinos like the Shangri-La are empty these days with the shutdown of all non-essential enterprises in the former Soviet Republic. A state of emergency will last until April 14.

The government of Armenia has shut down almost all businesses until April 14, trying to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Only grocery stores, pharmacies and banks remain open. All schools, shopping malls, movie theaters, clubs and of course, casinos and have been closed, while public events and mass gatherings have been banned.

According to Reuters, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has ordered that only people over the age of 65 may go shopping between 10 a.m. and noon each day, and all people are banned from walking on the streets without passports.
