Local reports in the UK say Asian gaming company K8 is looking to acquire Wigan Athletic, a League One football club, for about £15 million, though some reports put the price over £20 million.

K8 Group CEO Vincent Huang reportedly visited the UK to complete the deal, which will now require the approval of the league.

K8 has offices in more than 50 countries, including Vietnam, Philippines and the United Kingdom. It offers virtual casino, slots, table games, live dealer and sports betting, and is licensed under First Cagayan Philippines.

K8 has other ties to UK football including a shirt sponsorship deal with English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion official betting partnerships with EPL side Manchester City and Championship squad Cardiff City FC, according to a report at calyvnayre.com.

The deal is expected to close before January.
