Asian-Themed Vegas Casino Topped Out

Work is done on the nine-story hotel portion of the Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino (l.) under construction on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The $373-billion Asian-themed resort is expected to open in summer 2016 with 200 rooms, restaurants serving Asian cuisine, and a Feng Shui-compatible casino featuring table games that generally are popular among Asians.

Construction continues at casino projects on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, marked by the topping out of the hotel tower for the 3 million Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino.

Completion of the hotel allows developer PENTA Holding Group to move on to the casino and parking facilities portions of the project, which PENTA plans to open in Summer 2016.

The Lucky Dragon’s site originally was intended for a sister residential tower to the 41-story Allure Las Vegas luxury condominiums, which opened in 2008 on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip.

PENTA changed its mind after the housing bubble burst and switched to the Asian-themed Lucky Dragon casino and boutique nine-story hotel. Current plans include restaurants featuring Asian dishes, 200 luxury rooms, a spa, and separate casino in its own building.

Casino plans include Feng Shui-inspired gaming rooms and lots of Pai Gow, Sic Bo, Fan Tan, and Baccarat tables.

The Lucky Dragon is located near the $4 billion Resorts World Las Vegas development and close to the Chinatown area of Las Vegas, which an analyst says should boost foot traffic for the Lucky Dragon.
