New Jersey passed a law limiting carrying guns in public places. A judge issued a restraining order, but the casino association ignored the restraint by banning guns anyway.

The Atlantic City casino industry will ignore a temporary restraining order blocking parts of a new state law that limits weapons in public places.

“The safety and well-being of our guests and employees is a top priority for the Atlantic City casino industry,” Mark Giannantonio, the president of the Casino Association of New Jersey, said. “All of the Atlantic City casinos are exercising their rights, as private property owners, to prohibit the carrying of firearms on their premises.”

Governor Phil Murphy signed the law in December but a gun rights group sued saying the new law Is unconstitutional. U.S. District Court Chief Judge Renée Marie Bumb Issued a restraining order In January, according to the New Jersey Globe.

The ruling froze the portion of the law that limits guns in “sensitive places, including schools and restaurants.
