Atlantic City to Get Seaplane Service with Manhattan

A company is planning to offer limited seaplane service between Manhattan and Atlantic City. Rides would costs $4,000 each way.

Atlantic City suffers from a lack of air service and one company has an answer—a very small answer.

Tropic Ocean Airways is planning to offer seaplane charters from the waters off Manhattan to Atlantic City International Airport.

The service is known for it flights to the Bahamas and Florida Keys, but plans to begin the 45-minute flights to Atlantic City this summer, reports the Press of Atlantic City.

The price per flight is about $4,000 each way. Six passengers can be carried by the company’s Caravan seaplane.

No flights have been scheduled yet. The flights have to land at Atlantic City International because there is no licensed seaplane base in operation off Atlantic City.
