Atlantic City City Council has introduced a draft lease agreement with a company planning to turn the long vacant former Bader Field airport into a major sports complex.
The lease with Bader Field Sports LLC would see the development of a sports complex, athletic field and other amenities.
The proposed lease requires the company to pay the city 10 percent of the annual gross revenue generated on the property, according to the Press of Atlantic City, though the final terms of the deal are still being negotiated.
Officials for Bader Field Sports aid they expect construction at the site to begin in the spring.
However, the project still requires the final approval of the state Department of Environmental Protection, the city and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, the paper reported.
