Jeff Sottolano, executive vice president of programming for Audacy, said seven broadcast stations have changed formats to become part of the BetQL Sports Network. The move continues the company’s push into sports gambling, according to Radio World.
All seven are AM stations with one also associated with an FM signal. Audacy says its gambling-oriented programming can now be heard in 12 U.S. markets including Baltimore, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas and more.
The company launched “The Bet” in Denver and on two HD Radio multicast channels in Chicago and L.A.
“Future stations will be announced in the coming months as markets legalize sports betting,” Audacy said in a statement. Also, the company plans to distribute the network “via affiliate opportunities with additional network providers.”
Audacy calls itself “the unrivaled leader in sports radio, reaching three times more people than the leading competitor.” The firm owns 39 all-sports stations and a portfolio that can reach 30 million a month.
