The Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas is transforming the second and third floors of its new 40,000-square-foot retail space into a Transformers and Avengers park for visitors.
Victory Hill Exhibition will convert 28,000 square feet of the retail areas into two separate experiential exhibits in park-style settings and using the popular Hasbro’s Transformers and Marvel Comic’s The Avengers characters and themes.
“Las Vegas will be our marquee attraction,” Victory Hill CEO Nicholas Cooper told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “Imagine interacting with a three-story tall Optimis Prime right in front of you.”
Each tour would be self-guided and take about 50 minutes to complete, although people are welcome to linger longer.
The new attractions will help Treasure Island to maintain its family-oriented theme and will occupy space currently used by a CVS Pharmacy, Treasure Island owner Phil Ruffin said.
Ruffin said it took time to consider what to do with the retail space and didn’t want to use it for another restaurant, which only would compete with the several already located inside Treasure Island. He estimates the attractions will generate about $8 million in annual revenue.
Treasure Island will contribute $2 million toward the development costs for the new attractions, but Ruffin did not say how much it will cost.
The Transformers exhibit is to be located on the second floor of the new retail space, while The Avengers attraction will be on the upper level. Both are scheduled to open in March.
