Bacta, the U.K. ‘s trade association for amusement and gaming machines, has elected a new 11-member national council, an action that completes the organization’s restructuring. iGaming Business reported on the meeting.
The new council members include Peter Davies of Inspired Leisure Division, Tony Boulton of Merkur U.K. and Elizabeth Speed of Novomatic U.K., Dean Harding of Harry Levy Amusements, Jonathan Lauder of UDC and Jeremy Godden of Godden Gaming Organization. Rounding out the council are newly elected Bacta national President John Bollom, Vice President Joseph Cullis, and previous national presidents Nick Harding, Greg Wood and James Miller.
Bollom declared to the membership: “I am absolutely delighted to confirm the make-up of our new national council. I believe it has the experience, the vision and the energy to drive the trade association forward and represent the industry at this critical stage following publication of the white paper.”
Bollom proposed the new structure for the association that was ultimately adopted. He added, “The benchmark I used was assessing Bacta’s ability to respond to future challenges and to future opportunities. To be totally effective in its representation of the membership it was clear Bacta required a new streamlined, unhindered and progressive structure aligned to a cabinet of talents.”
He concluded, “I think those elements are now in place and we can move forward in pursuit of our overarching objectives.”
