Baha Mar Debuts Second Hotel

The Bahamas megaresort has unveiled its second hotel, the 299-room SLS Baha Mar, lifting the property’s room count to just shy of 2,100, including an 1,800-room Grand Hyatt. A third hotel is on the way, a 200-room Rosewood slated for opening early next year.

Baha Mar Debuts Second Hotel

Baha Mar has welcomed the second of three planned hotels, bringing the complement of rooms and suites at the $4 billion Bahamas resort casino to 2,099.

The SLS Baha Mar debuted its 299 rooms on November 17 as the fifth hotel opened under the SBE lifestyle brand, following two in Miami, one in Beverly Hills and one on the Las Vegas Strip.

Baha Mar already features three SBE food and beverage outlets: Cleo, Katsuya and Monkey Bar. An SBE nightclub, Bond, and a lounge called Skybar are slated to open next month and early next year, respectively.

Baha Mar’s first phase opened this spring with the 1,800-room Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and a 100,000-square-foot casino, the largest in the Caribbean.

The third hotel, a 200-room Rosewood, is due to open in spring 2018.
