Bally Bet brought its mobile sportsbook to Iowa June 29, almost two months after the launch in Colorado, its debut. The Iowa version comes via a partnership with Elite Casino Resorts instead of a Bally’s casino. Bally Bet’s platform will originate in-house through Bet.Works, which the company bought for $125 million last November, according to Sports Handle.
“We are very excited to have achieved yet another milestone with the expansion of our mobile sports betting platform in Iowa,” said Adi Dhandhania, Bally’s Corporation’s senior vice president, strategy and interactive, in a statement. “As a state that has embraced legalized sports betting since 2019, Iowa was an attractive market for Bally Bet.
Bally Bet hopes to enter two more states in 2021, with more the following year.
In the first five months of this year, almost $590 million has been bet online in Iowa, amounting to 85.7 percent of the overall wagers. From its August 2019 launch through December 2020, the $523.7 million placed on bets via smartphones and other online platforms represented 66.5 percent of all handle generated.
