When the former Twin River purchased Bally’s Atlantic City from Caesars Entertainment, the deal did not include the existing sportsbook in the Wild Wild West casino. That went with Caesars. But Bally’s Corp.—the new name for Twin River—brought in FanDuel, which has opened a temporary sportsbook, with a permanent one set for spring.
The addition means all nine casinos in Atlantic City have brick-and-mortar sportsbooks, according to the Press of Atlantic City.
“We are very excited to announce the opening of the FanDuel Sportsbook at Bally’s AC. It is the first of many planned capital improvement projects and a testament to our commitment to reinvest in our physical property portfolio,” Bally’s Corp. CEO George Papanier said in a news release.
The temporary version, on the casino floor near the Boardwalk, includes 10 self-service betting kiosks and three live betting windows. The sportsbook will accept wagers on major sports from football to golf to motorsports. During the continued pandemic limitations, the location will operate in conjunction with health protocols. Attendants will take bets Monday through Friday, 12 to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Construction has begun on the permanent sportsbook, spanning 4,100 square feet, with 34 self-service kiosks, five live betting windows and an 80-seat lounge with a food and beverage menu with craft beer, 30 reclining club chairs, and oversized LED video walls.
“We are excited to be one of the first pieces of the capital improvement project at Bally’s Atlantic City Casino & Hotel,” said Keith Wall, vice president of retail at FanDuel Group. “While we are eager to get up and running with our temporary sports book, we cannot wait until we open the permanent location and showcase to Atlantic City why FanDuel is the No. 1 sports book in New Jersey.”
