Bally’s Corporation recently received RG Check accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC). The most comprehensive gambling accreditation program, RG Check was developed with input from policymakers, gambling operators, players and problem gamblers. The program includes critical safeguards to protect players and promote a sustainable player base. Bally’s RG Check accreditation is valid for three years.
According to PlayIllinois, RGC Chief Executive Officer Shelley White said, “An RG Check accreditation means Bally’s Corporation has achieved the highest standards for their commitment to responsible gambling practices.”
Bally’s Chicago Vice President and General Manager Mark Wong said in a statement, “As pioneers in Chicago’s gaming landscape, we understand the significance of our role in setting the standard for promoting responsible gaming practices and supporting our diverse community in ways that resonate with many groups, especially those who are typically overlooked by these types of initiatives.
“We take problem gambling very seriously at Bally’s. While the gaming industry is thrilling, we recognize its complexities and have proactively implemented measures to assist problem gambling. We empathize with those who struggle with addiction and aim to do all that we can.”
In conjunction with the RG Check accreditation, Bally’s Chicago also announced it has formed partnerships with the Illinois Council on Problem Gambling and the Midwest Asian Health Association in Chicago. The first and only Illinois casino to work directly with a local health and human services community partner, Bally’s Chicago has teamed with the Midwest Asian Health Association (MAHA) to create brochures with information about problem gaming awareness resources translated into simplified Chinese. The brochures will be available at all Illinois casinos.
Per PlayIllinios, MAHA Executive Director Hong Liu, Ph.D., said, “This collaboration aims to increase the awareness of responsible gaming and develop culturally tailored resources to help empower individuals to make informed choices and seek help when needed. MAHA and Bally’s Casino joint effort reflects a shared commitment to promote assistance resources for personal and mental health and responsible gambling assistance within Chicago’s diverse Asian communities.”
Bally’s Chicago also participated in the Illinois Council on Problem Gambling’s 2024 Diversity in Problem Gambling series. The program partners with treatment and advocacy groups within the African American, Asian and Latinx communities to highlight diversity in problem gambling treatment and provide better access to resources.
Bally’s Vice President of Global Responsible Gaming Tammi Barlow, who represented the company in the ICPG program, said in a statement, “Responsible gaming is woven throughout Bally’s business strategy, and the well-being of our guests is paramount as fostering a safe and responsible gaming environment for all. Being able to work alongside our Chicago casino team to strengthen the efforts of our local community organizations dedicated to problem gambling resources is something that we are all proud of.”
