The Australasian Gaming Expo reported a record 250 exhibitors turned out for the annual trade show in Sydney. That’s a 25 percent increase over 2015, show organizers say, and a sizable portion of them were exhibiting for the first time.

The Australasian Gaming Expo hosted 250 exhibitors at the Sydney Exhibition Centre last week, making it the largest the annual event has held so far at the Glebe Island venue.

Ross Ferrar, who heads the Gaming Technologies Association, the show’s producer, said that following 2015’s sold-out show, “To keep up with exhibitor demand, we’ve increased capacity for 2016. Our long-term exhibitors wanted to showcase more products and that required more floor space.”

Held August 9-11, the show featured 17,000 square meters of exhibition space and hosted 25 percent more exhibitors than last year, Ferrar said, and 20 percent of them were first-time exhibitors.

“If that’s anything to go by, I can certainly say that any initial exhibitor apprehension has been dispelled,” he said.
